Operating model
Vitesse's model is designed for insurance liquidity management (treasury) and payments to claimants and vendors.
Customers hold and manage funds within Vitesse accounts, which support treasury and payment operations, delegated authority arrangements, and reconciliation data across insurers, MGAs, TPAs, brokers, and other partners.
The platform operates on a prefunded basis, so customers must hold sufficient funds in their Vitesse accounts before making payments.
Vitesse records funding activity, account movements, and payments within a structured account framework, giving insurers and delegated partners visibility over funding activity, balances, and payment execution.
Customers use Vitesse to manage treasury activity, payment operations, and reconciliation in real time, from one place, replacing fragmented bank accounts, manual processes, and periodic bordereaux reporting.

Vitesse's operating model
Platform structure
The Vitesse treasury model combines:
- Virtual accounts that track balances and fund movements
- Safeguarded bank accounts that hold client funds
- Payment networks that route payments to recipients
Together, these layers support the allocation, control, and disbursement of claim funds across delegated insurance operations.
Delegated operations
Insurance claim payments often involve multiple organisations working together across delegated authority arrangements.
For example:
- Insurers provide and oversee claim funds
- MGAs manage delegated underwriting arrangements
- TPAs administer claims and execute payments
- Brokers support reporting and fund movements between parties
Vitesse supports these arrangements by allowing organisations to manage claim funding and payment activity within a shared treasury framework.
For more information about permissions and delegated access, see Account access.
Treasury visibility and reconciliation
Vitesse records funding activity, account movements, and payment activity within the platform to provide a consistent operational and financial view across the claims payment lifecycle.
Customers and authorised partners can:
- Monitor balances and transaction activity across operational structures
- Track funding and payment activity
- Reconcile treasury and payment operations using shared reporting data
- Maintain visibility across delegated partners and payment operations
This approach helps customers reduce failed payments, avoid last-minute cash calls, and improve operational reconciliation.
Payment execution
Customers and authorised partners can initiate payments through Vitesse online, batch file processing, or API integration.
Vitesse routes payments through domestic payment networks and international banking partners based on the destination country, currency, and payment method.
For more information, see About payments.
Premium orchestration
In addition to claims funding and payments, Vitesse supports premium treasury operations across global, complex insurance structures.
Customers can use Vitesse to manage the collection, segregation, movement, and reconciliation of collected premium funds between insurers, MGAs, brokers, TPAs, and other partners.
By centralising premium-related treasury activity within the platform, Vitesse helps organisations improve visibility, streamline reconciliation, reduce operational complexity, and maintain clearer oversight of premium flows across multiple counterparties and programmes.
