About payments

Payments represent the transfer of money from Vitesse accounts to recipients.

Each payment originates from a specific account. The platform validates the payment, applies routing and risk checks, and then submits it to a payment network or banking partner for execution. Each stage of the payment lifecycle is tracked.

Vitesse releases payments on a prefunded basis, so you must ensure sufficient cleared funds are available before instructing any outbound payment.

Payment routing

Payments are routed using:

  • Domestic payment networks (for example FPS, ACH, SEPA)
  • SWIFT for cross-border payments

The selected route depends on the destination country, currency, and hub.

For more information, see Payment coverage by hub.

Rules and data requirements

Each payment must meet route-specific requirements based on destination and method.

These include:

  • Required banking fields
  • Field formats and validation rules
  • Conditional requirements based on route type
