Users

Users represent individuals who access the platform through Vitesse online or MAS.

Each user belongs to an organisation and one entity within that organisation. Administrators create and manage users by assigning roles and granting account access, which together determine what they can view and do.

About the user lifecycle

Administrators can manage users throughout their lifecycle, including:

  • Inviting users to register on the system
  • Updating roles and account access
  • Disabling users
  • Reinstating users, where appropriate
  • Deleting users
📘

Some changes may require additional validation and are managed in coordination with Vitesse.

For information about assigning permissions, see User roles. For information about granting access to accounts, see Account access.

Where to create and manage users

You can invite and manage users through both Vitesse online and MAS.

We recommend administering users in Vitesse online because you can:

  • Manage users, roles, and account access from a single location
  • Assign Vitesse online and MAS roles
  • Assign roles before a user completes registration
  • Use role groups to assign related roles

MAS supports user management, but only for MAS roles.

To understand the differences in role management between Vitesse online and MAS, see Managing user roles.

User registration

When you invite a user through either Vitesse online or MAS:

  • The user initially appears only in the application from which they were invited.
  • After the user completes registration, they appear in both Vitesse online and MAS.
  • The user automatically receives the baseline roles required to access both applications:
    • Portal External User – grants access to Vitesse online
    • User – grants access to MAS

For information about the available roles, see User roles.
