Account types

Vitesse offers three account types, which you can combine to support your treasury and payment operating models.

Standard accounts

Standard accounts are used to hold funds and make payments.

They typically represent insurance products and support fund segregation, delegated access, and cashbook reporting.

They are suited to models where funds are allocated and disbursed from a single loss fund.

Funding accounts

Funding accounts serve as liquidity reserves from which linked payment accounts can draw funds.

They enable centralised fund management across multiple contracts.

They are used by clients who are able to pool funds related to different contracts in order to simplify and optimise liquidity management.

Payment accounts

Payment accounts don't hold funds and are used only to make payments, drawing funds from linked funding accounts.

When a payment is initiated:

  • Funds are automatically drawn from one or more linked funding accounts
  • The payment account returns to a zero balance after the payment is made

This supports advanced treasury models, such as risk sharing or subscription contracts, where a payment is funded proportionally from multiple funding accounts representing co-underwriters.
